Intro to WTC Memorial Miles

Dear Friends,
I am participating in Memorial Miles, a grassroots fundraising effort to support the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center and a unique way to commemorate the lives of family, friends and colleagues tragically lost on that day. Staff working on rebuilding the World Trade Center site, many of whom are 9/11 survivors, want to show the public that we are keenly aware of the importance of completing the Memorial by September 11, 2011, and to find a way to help raise the funds needed to complete this vital project.
So, starting on September 11, 2008, we are each pledging to run and/or walk a minimum of 365 miles over the next year, and will recommit on a yearly basis until the Memorial is opened.
Over the next three years until the Memorial opens on September 11, 2011, I am pledging to run/walk a mile for every victim of the terrorist attacks on the WTC, the Pentagon and Shanksville, PA. I am committing to run a total of 2,980 miles or approximately 2.7 miles a day for the next three years.
Please join me in this important effort and make a donation to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center.
